Grandravine Tornadoes vs Barrie Colts

On Sunday, March 2 the Barrie Colts hosted Grandravine’s Team 4 for an exciting game!  The teams were well matched and the action kept us at the edge of our seats, voices hoarse from cheering our team and ourhands clapping for both teams.  All players on the ice gave their finest efforts.

As is our habit, the Eren family decided to have lunch after the game, near the arena.  We were sitting at our table, waiting for our food to be ready when a dad & his son walked in.  Niki immediately recognized Coach Jim from the Colts.  They sat down beside us and we quickly found out that Jim’s son, Braeden, was the goalie for the Colts.  He told us that he became a goalie because his father, his grandfather and his mother had been goalies before him.  What a legacy!

It was fun for the goalies to have time off-ice to talk about their lives outside of SHI.  Both players are very active in other areas and discussed their activities in depth.

This is the extra treat we parents enjoy – meeting other parents at games and tournaments.  Thank you SHI for giving us all this opportunity.
