Dreams Come True

Francesco shows off his new gear.

The dream did come true for our very own Francesco DeSanto at Nathan Phillips Square this past Tuesday, as the recipient of a complete set of hockey equipment from Dreams Come True . Dreams Come True is a partnership of the Toronto Police Foundation, the Hockey Canada Foundation, the City of Toronto and TCEU Local 416, bringing hockey equipment to young players across the city. One deserving young player is chosen in each ward in the City of Toronto. Grandravine Special Hockey would like to thank councillor James Pasternak for having chosen The Grandravine Tornadoes and Francesco for the York Centre recipient.

The presentation at Nathan Phillips was attended by representatives of all the organizations involved and was followed by a practice session on the ice. Parents looked on in pride as the volunteer coaches worked with the young players to get their new equipment broken in and try out a few new skills. And to top it off, it was the perfect winter day a little outdoor shinny, just cold enough and full of sunshine. A special thanks as well to Aytakin Mohammadi from councillor Pasternak’s office for his efforts in making all the arrangements.

Mary, Francesco, Claudia, Rebecca and Louie DeSanto.
Hard to loose this face-off.
